Whatever brought you here, I'm glad to 'see' you. Now don't panic; I don't have any hidden cameras! Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

For some time now, I've been running my own business, Rising Star Designs & Communication, from the comfort of my own home. I was able to start this enterprise because I've been fortunate enough to amass extensive experience in writing, editing, design, marketing and business administration during over fifteen years of industry experience. During that time, I've worked in a variety of industries including: governmental facilities management, architecture, insurance adjusting, legal practice and boat trailer manufacturing.

Since working for myself, I've faced a lot of challenges, such as: forgetting to eat breakfast until it's almost dinner time, how to explain that yes I do work at home, really, even if you happen to catch me in PJs at 5 pm. In and amongst those challenges, I have created some great work for some fabulous clients, including websites, website and newsletter content, press releases, logos and books (editing and design).

While deciding to devote some time to brushing up my main web site, I decided I also want to start working on my own projects, sharing some of my photography and generally just having a bit of fun. This site was the culmination of those ideas so it will definitely be a work in progress.
